Interested in Interning or Volunteering?

Help us create miracles for orphans by volunteering your time. We’re always looking for enthusiastic and committed people to help us fulfill our mission of empowering orphans to reach their full potential. You can give your time, talent and experience at our bustling Austin headquarters and make a real impact on orphans’ lives.

Our Austin headquarters is open Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 5 pm and Friday 9 am to 4 pm. In almost all cases, we can only accommodate interns and volunteers during business hours. Thank you for your understanding.

Interest Areas

Our interns and volunteers are essential in helping us run one of the most respected nonprofit organizations in Austin. Responsibilities vary, but are generally in one of the following areas: Office administration, development/events, finance, marketing, process documentation, and programs. We do our best to find work that suits your interests and develops your expertise.

All interns and volunteers are required to attend an orientation, so we can fully inform you about why we do what we do and how we are meeting our mission to empower orphans and orphanages to reach their full potential.

“Interning at the Miracle Foundation was a great experience. I learned that when you work at a nonprofit, you never run out of things to do! But that was one aspect that I really loved, because I was never bored. I was able to work on a variety of projects and really gained first-hand knowledge of what working in the nonprofit sector is like. I learned that nonprofits are under constant scrutiny by the public, because a donation received is an investment. Therefore, the standards of transparency and authenticity at the Miracle Foundation are very high. I also loved the people of the Miracle Foundation; everyone was excited to be in the office every day, working towards a common goal. I was able to go to multiple ¨after hours¨ events, and I got to know my fellow employees on a personal level. They are all such motivated and interesting people! The work environment and my experiences at the Miracle Foundation confirmed that I want to work for a nonprofit when I graduate from UT. The experience, networking opportunities, and skills I learned during my internship at the Miracle Foundation will definitely be invaluable to me in the future.”

“I have been working as a volunteer at the Miracle Foundation since October 2009. I help maintain the database. Over this period of time, I have seen the children’s photos, videos, drawings, and correspondence, and through that I have essentially witnessed them growing up. That makes me feel like I’m involved in their lives in some small way, which gives me great pleasure. I have also seen the correspondence from many of the donors and it really is touching. I enjoy my experience because it is a wonderful and valuable way for me to get involved with orphans in my native India in a truly positive way. The Miracle Foundation seems to operate as one large family, which makes it a comfortable and friendly place to work. I have met so many wonderful people who share similar values to me, which of course enhances the experience greatly. I have been able to take part in some of their fundraising activities, which can involve manning their table at fun events like concerts, or attending their annual fundraising party, which is always a great experience. It is, in short, a great place to work, contribute to a wonderful cause, and meet fantastic people along the way!”
