Interns will work at the Anbarasi Children’s Home in Tamil Nadu for six weeks and will be responsible for teaching English to children of varying ages and proficiencies. The Miracle Foundation has been working hand-in-hand with the Anbarasi Children’s Home since May 2012.
In an emerging country such as India, learning English is one of the most important means to breaking the cycle of poverty. As India continues to position itself onto the global economy, its children, some of whom are often forgotten, need access to quality education. The ability to speak English can multiply their earning power by four and also begin to bridge the gap between the urban and rural population in India. By helping and encouraging the precious children to invest in their education, you will give them an opportunity to build a bright future for themselves, their community and their country. Come meet their smiling faces and help them experience the joy of learning. Help us inspire a future generation of Indians!

Anbarasi has sixteen staff including housemothers, cooks, an accountant and a security guard. A full time social worker is on site 24/7 to provide guidance and support to the children and the caregivers. Interns will have continued support provided by the social worker at the children’s home, the Education Coordinator in India and the Education Program Manager in the U.S.
The Internship program will have four interns. They may have their own room or share with another intern. They will have access to kitchen facilities, bathroom, and common area. Interns will be provided three meals a day.
