“It’s been a pleasure working with the lively bunch at Miracle Foundation’s Austin headquarters. Being an intern here is very hands-on. Each day, I research opportunities to help our organization grow. I have watched my research go from the earliest preliminary stages to actively supporting our programs. The work I do in data management for Miracle has taught me to use Excel and other programs at the professional level in a unique, engaging environment.

The folks at Miracle are so dedicated that I always feel rewarded for my efforts. The supportive community at the office is what keeps me excited about coming in every day. I’ve always wanted to work in the nonprofit sector, and Miracle has given me the experience I need to get my foot in the door. Moreover, they have taught me to be a compassionate, dedicated, and engaged employee – something all organizations look for. Internships should take you farther than the classroom, and my work at Miracle has brought me out of study and into practice in a fun and rewarding way.”

“I have been working as a volunteer at the Miracle Foundation since October 2009. I help maintain the database. Over this period of time, I have seen the children’s photos, videos, drawings, and correspondence, and through that I have essentially witnessed them growing up. That makes me feel like I’m involved in their lives in some small way, which gives me great pleasure. I have also seen the correspondence from many of the donors and it really is touching. I enjoy my experience because it is a wonderful and valuable way for me to get involved with orphans in my native India in a truly positive way. The Miracle Foundation seems to operate as one large family, which makes it a comfortable and friendly place to work. I have met so many wonderful people who share similar values to me, which of course enhances the experience greatly. I have been able to take part in some of their fundraising activities, which can involve manning their table at fun events like concerts, or attending their annual fundraising party, which is always a great experience. It is, in short, a great place to work, contribute to a wonderful cause, and meet fantastic people along the way!”
