Sandhyaa Mishra holds a Master’s in Social Work and a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Rights. Her role at Miracle Foundation is critical in building and strengthening relationships with various stakeholders, including the government, and establishing our position as a leading thought leader in family-based alternative care in India. Sandhyaa is a strategic collaborator and influencer in the ecosystem, contributing to large-scale system changes. She will work with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) at state, national, and global levels to effect practice and policy guideline changes in India and South Asia.
As one of the first employees of the India team, Sandhyaa has been part of the organization’s evolution with a single goal of providing a loving family for every child. With over two decades of experience in the Social Development sector, Sandhyaa has worked with various non-profit organizations in India, small community-led initiatives, and projects for refugees with the UNHCR, children living with HIV, and children of prisoners. She has developed workplace policies on HIV/AIDS and led capacity-building programs on Life Skills Education, Family Strengthening, and Family-Based Alternative Care.
Sandhyaa represents Miracle on various platforms and collectives, promoting family-based care in partnership with the government, CSOs, networks, and other experts in the field. She is also the Co-convener and a member of the steering committee of India Alternative Care Network. Sandhyaa is lively and enjoys practicing yoga, engaging in spiritual activities, catching up with her friends, and singing in her free time.
